Evidence Based Practices
In clinical practices, it has been characterized that the treatment was based on idiosyncratic practices on one’s personal experience, intuition, which are all inconsistent. It is estimated that only 19% of the medical practices was based on the science and rest on opinions, or clinical experience or the tradition. To bridge this gap between the practice and research (Lamb et al., 1998), the National Treatment plan (CSAT, 2000), called for connecting practice to research. The definition of Evidence-based practices according to Gray (1997), "Evidence-based clinical practice is an approach to decision making in which the clinician uses the best evidence available, in consultation with the patient, to decide upon the option which suits that patient best" and other definitions include "Evidence-based clinical practice (EBCP) is an approach to health care practice in which the clinician is aware of the evidence that bears on her clinical practice, and the strength of that evidence" (“McMaster”)
