You are going to school again! It’s now the crucial time to pack your luggage for new university journey. As a student, you would surely second me when I say that you lost your sleep before heading to the University. It’s a unanimous problem. Every student, especially those going to an International University, for pursuing his/her higher studies would surely accept that they will feel nervous.

Your language problem and the cultural difference would surely stand as a wall between you and others. Well, don’t panic. Just plunge into action. Talk to your local classmates and tutor as much as you can. If you genuinely seek help, they will surely understand you.

However, if you look at it with the perspective of giving your best without being stressed up, then your university life can be a bed of roses.

They also have the pressure to come out in flying colours in all walks of life. This can have an adverse effect on the aspirations of these wide-eyed students. Universities must be proactive enough in reaching out to those in need and break the barrier of being hesitant to asking help.

  • Attend as many events you can in the first week of the university so that you get settled.
  • If you go to international universities then it is helpful to get a taste of their culture through the events. When you participate in the many fun activities, it will really help you in not being homesick. For example, throwing a thoughtful party with homemade food can make you come off your homesickness.

Well, you would feel nervous in the first week at the university but that is just a passing cloud. It is certainly a big challenge for most of the students, but believe me, it’s worth it!
