Concept of child

The study will adopt the definition of ‘child’ given by the United Nations in Convention on the Rights of a Child in 1989. According to CRC, every human being below the age of 18 years is a child unless,’ it adds ‘under the law applicable to child, majority attained earlier.’

Concept of Human rights-

Human rights are the claims of the individual for such conditions as are essential for the fullest realization of innate characteristics which nature has bestowed him / her with as a human being .

Child rights-

Needs of the children are different from the elders, so they require a special agenda for rights. The study will adopt the list of child rights as given in the different international instruments on child rights.

Armed conflict-

An armed conflict is a contested incompatibility which concerns government and / or territory where the use of armed force between two parties, of which at least one is the government of a state, result in at least 25 battle-related deaths.

Terrorism-

After the end of cold war and disintegration of Soviet Union, the threats of conventional war have lessened. But the new instrument of terrorism is on rising. Terrorism is “the threatened and actual resort to ideological and political violence by non- state groups for the purpose of achieving limited or extensive goals.”

Cross-border terrorism-

When terrorism within a state pursued by groups or emanating from across the state from the groups with the state backing or by the state.
